Week 40 Hegsted Mission

23-April-2023-Sunday This was a rainy Sunday.  When we awoke there was a large puddle of water in front of the car and it has rained most of the day with over an inch of rain so far.  No flash flooding just a steady rain all day.  Made the drive to and from Rutland interesting, but not difficult. Dede and I both spoke in church.  I took too long.  Obviously I do not comprehend meekness (my topic) or would not have gone over time.  Regardless, I thought I did well.  Dede was spectacular.  I so enjoyed her talk.  I played the organ again today, not sure when that will end.  I was however released as Sunday School Teacher to the youth.  Although I will miss this calling, I am so glad for the person they have called.  He has sons in the class and I think it will be good for him and them.  I just hope some of the youth will remember to be kind.  These youth are no different than other youth in the church, just have ...

Week 39 - Hegsted Mission

16-April-2023-Sunday Beginning of a new week.  We had a great day in Rutland.  I played the organ.  This should soon end as the older gentleman who has played in the past,  according to his daughter has begun walking again and will return to play soon.  I think he did little during the winter so she is so glad he has a purpose and is moving again.  I will miss playing, but I would much rather have a nonmember come and play than do it myself.  Dede led primary music.  Right before starting, the pianist told her she was leaving on vacation right after Sacrament Meeting so would not be there.  I was teaching Sunday School so was of no help.  Interesting.  The branch was so noisy as I was playing prelude, the President stood and asked people to quiet down.  I think only about half heard him as the noise level changed only slightly.  This carried over into Sunday School.  With Spring break coming up for the Branch a...

9-Arpil-2023-Sunday-Easter Sunday I thought I would start the week with pictures.  Dede and I celebrating Easter Sunday at the site.  Crocuses announce Spring and Easter at the monument and finally today I took the first load of passengers (followed up with the second load) down to foundations, another sign of Spring, which happened on this great day. We drove to Rutland for their special Sacrament Meeting and they did not disappoint.  When we walked in the chapel, the seats were arranged facing toward the middle of the chapel with an aisle down the middle.  During the program which was narrated by the youth, they spoke about symbols of of Easter which sat on the back table in their talks.  Thus the audience could see the speakers and the symbols at the same time.  The youth used a script to insure it stayed on time and did well.  Technically they probably pushed the limits using the symbols in a Sacrament Meeting, but it added power to th...
